Our Story
The lore of the Hollander Family is a long one, but suffice to say they have put their mark on the art world. Gino Hollander and his wife Barbara Hollander were the ones to start it all when they up and moved their kids to the south of Spain in 1961. There's only one life and the Hollander's have lived it well. Having left their life in NYC and the film business of the 50's where Barbara was one of New York's first women filmmakers they embarked on a journey to the south of Spain where Gino found his passion for painting and they raised their 3 children on the Spanish Mediterranean shore, before returning to America to spend their old age in Santa Fe, Aspen, and various parts of California. Much of this story can be read in Barbara Hollander's memoire Tapestry: a Memoir.

Siri Hollander, works with mixed-media to create powerful sculptures often of horses but also of other animals that speak to her, as well as sometimes human figures. Her work is playful and often described as shadow-like, she has said that her aim with her work isn't to depict the creature perfectly but to capture it's essence ; something her and her father Gino had in common.

Scott Hollander followed his parents artistic path all the way to the beginning and started where they did - the film business. After many years working on sets to bring us movie magic he has began to delve into his personal photography. His work is adventurous and emotional, aiming to capture the joys of life.

Jim Hollander is a photojournalist, living and still even working sometimes in Israel. He is best known for his book Run To The Sun - Pamplona's Fiesta de San Fermin a photography book documenting the famed fiesta which he himself has attended over 50 times.
The Hollander is a family that is a mélange of prose and poetry, often outrageous, and full of talent. It only made sense to open up a gallery to showcase all of their amazing working. The Hollander Gallery is located just off the historic Canyon Road in Santa Fe, New Mexico and is run by Siri and her daughter, Magdalena. We hope to see you there!
